Silvered bronze. Over 3/4" height. Large domed form, the back hollowed. Romans were very dependent on the sea and used sea motifs, real and mythical extensively in their art and decor. These are widely described as being worn by prostitutes. Professionally refurbished with the silver overlay restored, on a Sterling silver neck chain for contemporary wear.
