These small globular pendants were popular among common women in ancient Rome. Some have been described as prostitute’s pendants and that view is widely published on the internet. This example is 10.0mm, well over 3/8" diameter of spherical form with a nub to the bottom. It has been professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold surface restored. It is suspended on an 18” gilt sterling silver neck chain for modern wear and includes a gift box with a certificate of authenticity.
