Iconic broad heart form with overall trefoil motif comprising addorsed top members formed as tapered scrolling members. The bottom as a stylized diamond and all three with central incised tear forms.. Foliate designs were favored by Vikings and incorporated into about half of heart pendants. Over 7/8" width. The surface textured from burial. The heart stood for bravery, fortitude, loyalty, integrity, all attributes of the Viking warrior. It is abundantly referenced in Viking literature.
