$265.00 Sale
Bronze, just under 7/8” in height, delicately cast with an integral suspension loop. Generally acknowledged as exchange objects (money) these frequently, are encountered with pieces chipped out. Specifically not cracks, these voids indicate deliberate removal of small portions of the bell. If valued as money, it follows that the fragments were used votively as a sacrifice. This example has not yet had any chips removed at the time of its loss or sacrifice. Found in Ireland, England (Scotland), and Western Europe. Professionally refurbished with silver overlay on modern Sterling silver 18neck chain.
