CELTIC VOTIVE BELL PENDANT, 7th-5th CENTURY BC

$275.00 Sale
Bronze, about 3/4” height plus the connecting link for about 1 1/8” total. Intricately cast with thickened rim with four post projections, by the lost wax process. The plain form of our A1419 is generally acknowledged as exchange objects (money) and frequently are encountered with pieces chipped out.  This example was clearly more important and likely made for an important votive (sacrificial) purpose.  Found in Ireland, England (Scotland) and Western Europe. Very rarely encountered. Professionally refurbished with silver overlay on modern Sterling silver 18” neck chain. Jewelry gift boxed with certificate of authenticity.
