Gilt bronze, size 7 3/4. Broad, 3.7mm band with rounded face. Large bezel formed as a pointed end oval impressed with 11 concentric circles commemorating the wounds of Christ. Dating to the early period of Islam, when Christians were allowed generally unobstructed access to the Holy Land, and predating the Crusades.
