17th-18th century, Orthodox rite. Gilt bronze, just under 1 1/2" height plus the suspension loop. Relief decorated with raised edges and a vacant cross with five short transverse bars to the center beam representing the five wounds of Christ. Stipple ground. Reverse plain as found on earliest examples. Excellent preservation with good contrasting detail. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold surface restored and on a modern gilt neck chain for contemporary wear. Jewelry gift boxed with certificate of authenticity.
