Hellenistic Period (after the death of Alexander the Great). The death of Alexander resulted in fragmentation and civil war resulting in a number of separate city-states. 7/8” length plus the suspension loop. Exceptional size for these. Conical socket with triple cutting veins waisted in the middle and forming barbs. Usually lost on the battlefield and not often found in such good preservation. Excellent trilobate form. Professionally refurbished with a silver overlay and mounted on a modern Sterling silver neck chain for contemporary wear.
