Gilt bronze, size 4 ½. Deeply rounded face band, 3.0mm width. Bezel of conical form with central nub (perhaps an anatomical reference) on scalloped base. Superficially imitating a gemstone and blatantly advertising the intentions of the wearer. Roman prostitutes were typically adolescents, largely slaves. Prostitution was practiced openly with brothels sometimes sharing doors with libraries. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold surface restored. Jewelry gift boxed with certificate of authenticity.
