Predating coinage, these tokens, sometimes called arrowhead money, were used to facilitate the trade in slaves and food crops. This one is bronze, refurbished, 24karat gold plated, and suspended from an 18" gilt sterling silver neck chain for modern wear. It is over 1 1/8” (1.17”) in length and 2700 years old!
