Just under 1" width. Shield shaped with medial ridge. The bottom and top both cusped. The surface with a raised horse shoe form the significance of which has been lost. Gilt bronze, the surface textured from burial. Pendants like this were hung from the reins of horses in tournaments to identify the knightly contestant. The 24karat gold surface restored and suspended from a modern gilt Sterling silver neck chain for contemporary wear. Jewelry gift boxed with certificate of authenticity.
