Silvered bronze in the form of bundled wheat. A descendant of the earlier stone and faience amulets of the same form. 1 1/8” height. Meant to promote an abundant harvest. Egyptian agriculture was dependent on the annual flood of the Nile which brought water and nutrients to the desert soil. Amulets and sacrifices were intended to bring favor in the form of a good harvest. Excavated and professionally refurbished with the silver overlay restored.
