Venice, C.1500-1650. Gilt bronze, just over 1” (1.04”) height. Delicate lope work with three circles surrounded by triple borders, the center one roped. The circles are a reference to the Medici coat of arms which bear five circles. The three ball symbol for pawn shops also was drawn from that source. Delicate hand work throughout. The gold surface restored and suspended from an 18” gilt silver neck chain for modern wear.
