Slightly over ½” (0.54”) height of fully evolved cusped top heart form with broad raised edge. The field with well-modeled raided addorsed trefoil over a v, emphasizing the bottom of the heart. Foliate designs were favored by Vikings and incorporated into about half of the heart pendants. The double image here is rare in our experience. The heart stood for bravery, fortitude, loyalty, and integrity, all attributes of the Viking warrior. It is abundantly referenced in Viking literature. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold overlay restored on a gilt Sterling silver neck chain for contemporary wear. Gift boxed with certificate of authenticity.
