ANCIENT VIKING MAN’S COIL RING C.850-1050 AD
Triple coil form with medial ridge and tapering terminals evocative of the serpents from Viking myth. Size 10. Ancient and Medieval bronze casting produced, on a volume basis, items which would challenge modern artists. Particularly notable are the casting of coils as in the springs of fibula, the turns of which abutted but were not connected. Vikings used the coil in rings, neck torques, hair ornaments and other applications. Professionally refurbished with the silver overlay restored for contemporary wear. Gift boxed with certificate of authenticity.
