GOOD MEDIEVAL PILGRIM'S RELIQUARY CROSS NECKLACE, 7th-10th CENTURY
Carried by European pilgrims traveling to the Holy Land to visit the land where Christ lived and died. The front with deeply incised cross within the cross, and square with a saltire at the beam junction. Fine deep section. The back hollowed for inclusion of a holy relic such as the hair of a saint. Slightly over 7/8" height plus the suspension loop. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold overlay restored on a modern gilt neck chain for contemporary wear. Gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity.
