ANCIENT VIKING MAN’S WEDDING RING C.850-1050 AD SIZE 11
Narrow flat band. It is thought that Viking warriors wore narrow rings to minimize interference with the grip of their weapons. Archaeologically undecided at this point but with abundant examples representing Vikings at pastoral pursuits, and raiding, clarity may be expected in the next few years. Size 11. 20.8 mm inner diameter. Band is 2.2mm wide. Vikings exchanged rings on the pommel of the groom’s sword. Mild surface texture from burial. Professionally refurbished with the silver overlay restored for modern wear. Gift boxed with certificate of authenticity.
