These globular pendants were popular among common women in ancient Rome. Some have been described as prostitutes’ pendants and that view is widely published on the internet. This example is 13.0mm, over 1/2” diameter of elongated ribbed spherical form which some claim is anatomical. It has been professionally refurbished with the 24karat surface restored. It is suspended on a gilt neck chain for modern wear and is gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity. Exceptional size and well modeled.
