ANCIENT VIKING MAN’S COIL RING C.850-1050 AD
More than four complete coils of medium proportion. Size 11. Ancient and Medieval bronze casting produced, on a volume basis, items which would challenge modern artists. Particularly notable are the casting of coils as in the springs of fibula, the turns of which abutted but were not connected. Vikings used the coil in rings, neck torques, hair ornaments and other applications. Fine patina. Professionally refurbished with the gold overlay restored for contemporary wear. Gift boxed with certificate of authenticity.
