ANCIENT VIKING MAN’S WEDDING RING C.850-1050 AD SIZE 10 1/2
Narrow, round-faced band, size 10 1/2. 20.9mm inner diameter. Band is 2.4mm wide. It is thought that Viking warriors wore narrow rings to minimize interference with the grip of their weapons. Archaeologically undecided at this point but with abundant examples representing Vikings at pastoral pursuits, and raiding, clarity may be expected in the next few years. Vikings exchanged rings on the pommel of the groom’s sword. Fine patina. Professionally refurbished with the silver overlay restored for modern wear. Gift boxed with certificate of authenticity.
