ANCIENT VIKING MAN’S WEDDING RING C.850-1050 AD SIZE 10 ¼
Narrow, round faced band. It is thought that Viking warriors wore narrow rings to minimize interference with the grip of their weapons. Archaeologically undecided at this point but with abundant examples representing Vikings at pastoral pursuits, and raiding, clarity may be expected in the next few years. Size 10 ¼. 20.5mm inner diameter. Band is 2.0mm wide. Vikings exchanged rings on the pommel of the groom’s sword. Fine patina. Professionally refurbished with the silver overlay restored for modern wear. Gift boxed with certificate of authenticity.
