ANCIENT VIKING WEDDING RING C.850-1050 AD, SIZE 7 1/2
Broad, 6.2mm, silvered bronze. Flat-faced band, with broad raised medial hand engraved in fine lattice pattern. Lattice designs represented sown fields and were theorized to be worn for festivities when that Spring activity was complete. Light surface degradation form wear and burial. Professionally refurbished with the silver surface restored. Vikings exchanged rings on the pommel of the groom’s sword. Gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity.
