Bronze, just over 3/4" height, delicately cast with integral suspension loop. Generally acknowledged as exchange objects (money) these frequently, are encountered with pieces chipped out. If valued as money, it follows that the fragments were used votively as sacrifice. This example is not so compromised, but has small imperfections as cast. It is likely a burial votive, interred complete. Found in Ireland, England (Scotland) and Western Europe. Celtic religious ceremonies were officiated by Druids who were spiritual leaders (priests) as well as law makers and rulers. Professionally refurbished with silver overlay on modern sterling silver neck chain.
