CIVIL WAR SOLDIER’S RING
Ex: Schindler’s Antiques, King Street, Charleston. Purchased about 1980. Plated bronze, size 9 3/4 with raised circular bezel set with a dark blue stone. The shoulders with clover leaf motif. Provincial workmanship suggesting a Southern plantation cottage industry origin. Worn from use at the time of its loss. It was common for cavalry troopers to remove their rings before battle as they marginally compromised the purchase of the sword grip.
