Cambridgeshire England. Over 1/2" height of particularly full rounded form. The heart with a slightly cusped top and foliate (trefoil?) motif is incised. Made by the open face mold technique with distinct tool marks smoothing the back. The heart stood for bravery, fortitude, loyalty, and integrity, all attributes of the Viking warrior. It is abundantly referenced in Viking literature. Surface textured from burial. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold overlay restored on a gilt Sterling silver neck chain, for contemporary wear. Gift boxed with certificate of authenticity.
