Over 1 ½” height. The back hollowed for inclusion of a sacred relic, the hair of a saint, splinter of the True Cross or similar. Incised linear design to the face. Pilgrimages to the Holy Land were fundamental to the Christian faith but made increasingly difficult with the rise of Islam. Ultimately, the Crusades were organized to liberate the Holy Land. Professionally refurbished with the silver overlay restored and mounted on sterling silver chain for contemporary wear. Gift boxed with certificate of authenticity.
