EARLY CHRISTIAN GIRL’S RING 5th-9th CENTURY AD
Narrow band expanded to diamond section below the raised circular bezel inscribed with three concentric circles. These, as commonly found on pilgrims rings of the period, in groups of five, and later, larger numbers. Here, perhaps decorative only and not referring to the wounds of Christ which might be beyond a child’s understanding. Small size 3 ½ and excellent condition. Gilt bronze. Professionally refurbished with the gold overlay restored.
