EASTERN EUROPEAN CROSS NECKLACE, 17th-18th CENTURY
Quaint provincial example. Just under 1 1/4” height with thick beams with figural terminals and raised cross. Circular suspension loop. Displays provincial workmanship and the use of brass suggests the work of a “candlestick maker”, or more accurately village brass and copper caster. Those craftsmen produced a variety of products from drawer pulls to fire poker handles and even sword hilts as necessary. Excellent. Mounted on a modern gilt neck chain for contemporary wear. Gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity.
