EUROPEAN CHILD'S RING, 15th-16th C., SZ 2 1/4
Youth size 2 1/4. Gilt bronze with 2.6mm band flared at the shoulders. Rounded square bezel. See Ancient Rings, Pollio, p.75, where the author dates these to the “late Roman Period” (4th-5th century AD). Professionally refurbished with the gold overlay restored. Probably from the burial of a small child, probably a plague victim.
