FINE LARGE MEDIEVAL CROSS 12th-13th CENTURY
Gilt bronze, just under 1 1/4” height including the loop. Cylindrical beams with ball finials. The cross beam centered and a saltire at the junction. A heavy cross as this would have been carried by a priest, or perhaps a nun, but definitely a member of the clergy. Fine character. Professionally conserved with the gold overlay restored as it would have been many times in its working life.
