FINE MEDIEVAL WOMAN’S PENDANT C.10th-12th CENTURY
Gilt bronze. Just under 1" height of rounded form with nine radial members (plus the suspension loop), each as a swelled bulb on a stalk, obvious references to fertility, rebirth and abundance. The form is derived from the earlier Roman Wheel of Fortune, which carried on through the Medieval period, sometimes in interpretative forms as here. Professionally refurbished with the heavy gold overlay restored. Gift boxed with certificate of authenticity.
