MEDIEVAL EUROPEAN PILGRIM’S CROSS
7th-10th century, bronze, of symmetrical form with square center. The front incised with a radiant cross with remnants of pewter inlay. Reverse plain. 7/8” height. Originally plated, dating to the turbulent period leading up to the Crusades which were largely to capture the Holy Land from Islam. Good patina with the suspension loop intact and wearable.
