MEDIEVAL EUROPEAN PILGRIM’S CROSS
7th-10th century, bronze, of symmetrical form with square center. The front incised with a radiant cross with remnants of pewter or silver inlay. Reverse plain. Originally plated, slightly under 1” height. Dating to the turbulent period leading up to the Crusades which were largely to capture the Holy Land from Islam. Good patina with original light tool finish to the back. Suspension loop intact and wearable.
