Rare Copper Viking Ring, 900-1050 AD, Size 11 1/2
Size 11 1/2. Broad 5.9mm width band, with rounded face. Mottled red/brown patina as found and now with an industrial sealant overall. Vikings were expert metallurgists. The use of pure copper is rare and suggests a supernatural significance as alloys were much more durable. See the reference image which shows the process. Jewelry gift boxed with certificate of authenticity. Vikings exchanged rings on the pommel of the groom's sword.
