RARE VIKING TWISTED RING C.866-1067 AD, SIZE 9 1/4
Cambridgeshire, England, where the Vikings first invaded and conquered the Anglo-Saxon natives. Size 9 1/4 with relief twist modeling, now somewhat obscured by surface texture from burial, over half its circumference. The spiral or helix was a favorite Viking form. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold overlay restored. Vikings exchanged wedding rings on the pommel of the groom's sword. See the reference image which shows the process.
