4th-6th century AD. Bronze size 10. Broad rounded band supporting a rounded rectangular bezel incised with a double medial flanked by angled corner marks. The band a little out of round not affecting its suitability for modern wear. The term Byzantine originated in the 19th century. Until then, the Eastern Mediterranean cultures were referred to as Roman, through the Medieval period. Probably the ring of a Pilgrim traveling to the Holy Land before Islamic interference.
