Gilt bronze. Rounded face band 2.4mm width flaring to the shoulders with raised diamond motifs. Elongated stepped bezel in the form of a squinting eye. It was believed that the evil eye or evil glance could cause misfortune and that it was necessary to employ protection in the form of an amulet or ring which could repel the evil.
