Circular section band, 2.0mm, with small spherical top mount emulating a gemstone. Prostitution was legal, widespread and practiced openly. Rings such as this served to identify prostitutes in the streets and, interestingly, libraries, some of which were connected to the houses of prostitution. These rings are usually encountered in small sizes as the prostitutes were very young and usually slaves. Professionally refurbished with the gold overlay restored for contemporary wear. Gift boxed with certification of authenticity.
