VIKING HEART PENDANT C.850-1050 AD
Just over 3/4" width of the flat form, made by the lost wax mold process. The cusped with the suspension loop delineated with a V at the bottom. The heart is in the later, stylized form with cusped top crisply delineated. Vikings used this and the natural form with a rounded top. Both forms are used profusely in Nordic literature. The heart stood for bravery, fortitude, loyalty, integrity, all attributes of the Viking warrior. It is abundantly referenced in Viking literature. Professionally refurbished with the silver overlay restored on a Sterling silver neck chain for modern wear. Jewelry gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity. Superior example.
