The Viking heart in its fully developed form with a full cusp top formed by the scroll terminals of the broad borders which extend into the field forming a pentafoil over a V or arrowhead. Substantial with high relief decoration, produced by the open face mold technique. The heart stood for bravery, fortitude, loyalty, integrity, all attributes of the Viking warrior. It is abundantly referenced in Viking literature. Surface textured from burial.
