VIKING RIBBED GLASS BEAD, 9th-10th CENTURY AD
Yellow, green or olive color. Mandrel wound with the ribs hand impressed with a stylus. 5/8” length, slightly elongated spherical form. Excellent with light encrustation from a burial. Vikings valued beads over gold and have been known to take beads as ransom or tribute to call off raids. Wonderful Viking relic and a fine center piece for a modern jewelry creation.
