VIKING SORCERER’S AMULET C.900 AD
C.900 AD. Pierced form, which required advanced casting skills, geometric form representing a duck’s foot. A burial at Viden Denmark contained the body of a woman of wealth and status buried with henbane seeds, which have hallucinogenic properties and a wand as well as other objects. From these, it was concluded that she was a seeress or sorceress. The grave contained a necklace hung with three duck’s feet pendants very similar to this. Particularly delicately made. 1 inch tall. Professionally refurbished with the silver overlay restored, on a silver chain for modern wear.
