VIKING WARRIOR’S SHIELD RING, 10TH-11TH CENTURY, SIZE 10 3/4
Gilt bronze, size 10 ¾ with 3.7mm rounded face band supporting the large shield shaped bezel. Double stipple bordered edges and matching medial band flanked by triangles, each with three raised nubs or pellets. The triple nub configuration is a popular Viking device used extensively on lunar pendants. It undoubtedly had cosmic significance, now lost.
