Early 19th century. 5 1/8" x 3 1/4", loomed with twisted plant fiber thread. Trade beads in bands of blue purple and white with gathered base band. Worn by a woman to indicate that she is betrothed. Sound and substantially complete but soiled as used. Some beads missing/negligible. The pattern represents the warrior's clan and identifies the bride-to-be as the property of the warrior to whom she is betrothed. Rare large early example.
