English, gilt bronze, size 8 1/2 with rounded face band 2.6mm flaring broadly to the chevron stippled shoulders. Raised diamond-shaped bezel with further raised diamond centered. Similar examples bear a cross in the center. His example is slightly depressed in the center, probably that the cross was removed during the Reformation. While Protestants were Christian, the original cross would have been considered Catholic. See Ancient Rings, T N Pollio, p.116 for a near-identical example with remnants of the gold plate surface. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold surface restored. Jewelry gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity.
