9th-10th century AD. Hand shaped, ribbed bun form, just under 3/8” diameter (0.36”, 8.3mm). Mottled surface with some wear and flaking. Large stringing hole. Vikings valued beads over gold and have been known to make beads as ransom or tribute to call off raids. Wonderful Viking relic and a fine centerpiece for modern jewelry creation.
