Over 1 1/4 “(1.35”) height including the suspension loop. Bronze, cast, and chased in detail as the raised edge crescent moon with baluster tips representing Sol the sun and Mani the moon. The base formed as addorsed crescents with the terminals meeting in the center. The combination undoubtedly represents an astronomical event with supernatural significance. Above, a bordered circle perhaps an anatomical reference within these pelleted triangles. Undoubtedly of astrological significance, now lost. Viking worship involved the heavenly bodies on which they relied for guidance when sailing. Excellent condition with the 24karat gold overlay restored and mounted on an 18” modern gilt silver neck chain for contemporary wear. Jewelry gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity.
