These small globular pendants were popular among common women in ancient Rome. Some have been described as prostitute’s pendants and that view is widely published on the internet. This example is 10.2mm, well over 3/8" diameter of hemispherical form with hollow back. It has been professionally refurbished with the pure silver surface restored. It is suspended on an 18” sterling silver neck chain for modern wear and includes a gift box with a certificate of authenticity.
