10th-11th century, silvered bronze, just 7/8” width (0.83”). Made by the open face mold method and formed as a crescent with three nubs centered, clearly representing a celestial phenomenon of the convergence of specific astronomical bodies. The crescent with spherical tips representing Sol the sun and Mani the moon. Some wear, from the time of its use. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold overlay restored and on an 18” modern gilt Sterling silver neck chain for contemporary wear. Jewelry gift boxed with certificate of authenticity.
