Just over 1” (1.06”) height, made by the open-face mold technique. Silvered bronze of natural form, superimposed on a saltire, a Christian symbol, represented by quartered nubs, borrowed for its decorative form as was common. The field incised with a skeletal pentafoil. For Vikings, the heart stood for bravery, fortitude, loyalty, and integrity, attributes of the warrior. It is abundantly referenced in Viking literature. Surface textured from burial. Professionally refurbished with the pure silver surface restored on an 18” Sterling silver neck chain for contemporary wear. Jewelry gift boxed with certification of authenticity.
